About Pixels
Pixels: a farming and social game on Ronin
Pixels is an open-world farming and exploration game where players grow crops, gather resources, build and meet other players. It runs on Ronin, a blockchain built for games. The game launched in 2022, and its PIXEL token followed in February 2024.
Key Aspects of Pixels
1. How the game works
Players start with a small plot, farm, craft and trade, and can own land as NFTs, unique digital items recorded on a blockchain. VIP memberships unlock core features and extra earning options.
2. What the PIXEL token is used for
PIXEL is the game's premium currency, used for in-game purchases such as VIP passes. Players can also stake PIXEL to support individual games and share in their rewards.
3. Staking and publishing
Pixels also works as a game publisher. Players stake PIXEL in pools for individual games, and games that keep players engaged and earn revenue receive a larger share of rewards.
4. Token design
PIXEL has a capped supply of 5 billion tokens, released over 60 months from launch, with ecosystem rewards as the largest pool. A second token, vPIXEL, can only be spent on purchases in games across the Pixels ecosystem, and fees on PIXEL withdrawals are shared with stakers.
5. Smarter rewards
Pixels uses player data to aim rewards at the actions that build long-term value in its games, for example rewarding players who keep playing and reinvesting.
