Thena: a trading hub and liquidity layer for BNB Chain
Thena is a decentralised exchange (DEX), a trading venue run by smart contracts, on BNB Chain. It uses a ve(3,3) model, in which people lock the THE token to vote on where new rewards go and earn trading fees and incentives in return. It offers token swaps with advanced order types, concentrated liquidity pools and perpetual futures.
Key Aspects of Thena
1. How trading works
Swaps use smart routing to find paths through Thena's liquidity pools. Advanced orders include limit orders, TWAP orders, which split a trade into smaller ones over time, and stop-loss and take-profit orders.
2. Concentrated liquidity
Liquidity providers choose the price range for their funds, or use an automated strategy that manages the range for them, and earn most of the trading fees their positions generate.
3. The ve(3,3) model
Users lock THE to receive veTHE, which gives voting power. In each voting period, veTHE holders decide which pools receive THE emissions, and they earn trading fees from those pools plus incentives that projects offer to attract votes.
4. Perpetual futures
Thena offers long and short perpetual contracts, which track an asset's price and have no expiry date, with leverage limits set for each market.
5. Who it is for
Thena serves BNB Chain traders, projects that need liquidity for their tokens, and long-term holders who want a say in how rewards are shared.
