About Swell Network
Swell: liquid staking and restaking for Ethereum
Swell is a protocol for liquid staking and liquid restaking on Ethereum. Users stake ETH and receive tokens, swETH and rswETH, that earn rewards while staying usable in other DeFi apps. SWELL, the Swell Governance Token, is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum.
Key Aspects of Swell
1. swETH: Liquid Staking
Staking ETH helps secure Ethereum and earns rewards, but it normally locks the ETH. With Swell, users deposit ETH and receive swETH, a token that represents their staked ETH and its rewards and can still be used in DeFi.
2. rswETH: Liquid Restaking
Restaking reuses staked ETH to help secure other services for extra rewards. rswETH restakes ETH on EigenLayer, a restaking protocol, while users hold a liquid token that represents their position.
3. What SWELL Is Used For
SWELL is the governance token of the Swell community. It is also used in Fee Flow Auctions: fees from Swell's staking products, collected in swETH and rswETH, are sold in regular Dutch auctions, where the price starts high and falls until buyers step in, and buyers pay in SWELL.
4. Token Design
All SWELL paid in Fee Flow Auctions is sent to a burn address, which permanently reduces the supply.
5. Who It Is For
Swell is built for ETH holders who want staking or restaking rewards without giving up the ability to use their assets in DeFi.

In March 2026, Swell introduced Fee Flow Auctions, which use SWELL to buy protocol revenue and then burn it.
