About Renzo
Renzo: a platform for restaking and on-chain yield
Renzo is an on-chain platform for staking, restaking and putting capital to work. It is best known for ezETH, a liquid restaking token: users deposit ETH and receive ezETH, which represents ETH that is restaked through EigenLayer, meaning it is reused to help secure other services for extra rewards. REZ is Renzo's governance token, issued on Ethereum with versions on Base and Solana.
Key Aspects of Renzo
1. How restaking works
Staked ETH already helps secure Ethereum. Restaking lets that same stake also secure other networks and services, which pay extra rewards. Renzo handles the setup and gives users ezETH, which they can hold or use in other apps while their ETH keeps earning.
2. ezETH
ezETH is reward-bearing: staking and restaking rewards build up inside it, so it grows in value relative to the ETH behind it.
3. What the REZ token is used for
REZ is the governance token: holders discuss and vote on proposals that shape the protocol.
4. Token design
REZ was issued with a total supply of 10,000,000,000 tokens. REZ that Renzo buys back and burns is permanently removed from that supply.
5. Products and audience
Renzo groups its products into three suites: Reserve Vaults, which are managed vaults spread across yield strategies; a Staking Suite with ezETH and other restaking tokens; and an Enterprise Suite for institutions. It serves both individuals and institutions looking for on-chain yield.
Renzo's Milestones
In October 2025, Renzo introduced ezBTC, a Bitcoin-backed liquid restaking token. In November 2025, it completed its first REZ buyback and burn, aimed at reducing total supply by at least 10 percent. In December 2025, it launched Renzo Reserve, a managed vault product.
