Propy: real estate closings with blockchain records
Propy is a real estate technology company, Propy Inc., founded in 2015 and based in San Francisco. It offers AI-assisted title and escrow services for property sales, plus blockchain tools to record property deeds and tokenise property. PRO is its utility token, an ERC-20 token on Ethereum that can also be bridged to other networks.

1. What Propy does
Propy handles the closing of property sales, the step where money and ownership change hands, online. Its AI escrow assistant helps with the process so closings can run around the clock.
2. The on-chain title registry
Propy's blockchain title registry works in tiers: users can mint an NFT (a unique digital token) for a property address, which carries no legal rights to the property; record property deeds on-chain; and, after approval and identity checks, tokenise full ownership through a legal wrapper such as an LLC.
3. What the PRO token is used for
The title registry's services are paid for only in PRO. The token can also be used to enrol in Propy's online certification courses for real estate professionals.
4. Token design
The total supply is 100 million PRO, all of which has already been issued.
5. Regulation
Propy has published a whitepaper in the format set by MiCA, the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation, which describes PRO as a utility token.
