Propbase: a marketplace for tokenised real estate
Propbase is a tokenised real estate marketplace based in Southeast Asia. It splits ownership of properties into digital tokens, so people can buy a fraction of a property instead of the whole building. Propbase is built on the Aptos blockchain, and PROPS is the platform's own coin.
Key Aspects of Propbase
1. Fractional ownership
Tokenisation turns a share of a real asset into a token recorded on a blockchain. On Propbase, property tokens stand for proportional ownership of a property, which lowers the amount of money needed to invest in real estate.
2. Legal structure
Each Propbase property is held in a U.S.-registered limited liability company (LLC). Once a property is funded, the LLC acquires it, and investors receive their share of ownership through property tokens.
3. Built on Aptos
Aptos is a layer 1 blockchain that uses the Move programming language. PROPS is built on Aptos, and Propbase's built-in swap trades PROPS there.
4. What the PROPS coin is used for
Users stake PROPS for memberships with perks such as early access to property waitlists and fee discounts. PROPS is also used to pay platform and transaction fees, to power smart contract interactions and to vote on platform decisions, and 35% of PROPS is allocated to a rewards protocol for users.
5. Where PROPS exists
PROPS is native to Aptos and also exists on Base and Ethereum.
