About Polytrade
Polytrade: real-world finance on the blockchain
Polytrade was founded in 2021 to bring real-world trade finance on-chain, starting with invoices and receivables, the money businesses are owed by their customers. It went on to build and run AI-powered finance products focused on real-world trade. Its TRADE token is an ERC-20 token created on Ethereum in May 2021.
Key Aspects of Polytrade
1. Tokenising receivables
A business that is waiting to be paid on an invoice can turn that invoice into a token on a blockchain, a transparent asset that investors can fund. This is a form of real-world asset (RWA) tokenisation.
2. The ERC-6960 standard
Polytrade authored ERC-6960, a dual-layer token standard for real-world assets. It is designed to represent assets in a structured way and to help verify that tokenised assets are what they claim to be.
3. Products
The products Polytrade has built include Finance, which offers real-world credit underwritten with AI and checked against source documents; Ledgerless, AI-assisted accounting for small trading businesses; and Edge, which turns a user's chosen theme into a basket of assets assembled by an AI agent.
4. What the TRADE token is used for
On Polytrade Finance, TRADE held in the treasury backs senior deposits, and the wallets and balances are published on-chain. TRADE can also be staked on Polytrade's staking site.
5. Token design
TRADE has a fixed total supply of 100,000,000 tokens, with no vesting unlock schedule. Polytrade states that every token it buys back is permanently removed from supply.
Polytrade's Milestones
Polytrade was founded in 2021, and the TRADE token contract was created on Ethereum in May 2021. In late 2023 it introduced Polytrade 2.0, focused on verifying real-world assets. In 2024 it extended its technology to more networks, starting with Base.
