Medieval Empires: a historical strategy game with its own token
Medieval Empires is a free-to-play online strategy game in which players build an empire in a medieval world, train armies and compete for territory. MEE is the game's utility token, issued on Polygon, an Ethereum-compatible network with low fees. The game is published by Medieval Empires Pte. Ltd.
Key Aspects of Medieval Empires
1. Gameplay
Players construct and upgrade buildings and recruit and train armies of heroes and soldiers, such as archers, cavalry and swordsmen, to build a powerful empire of the medieval era.
2. Land ownership
Some players own land in the game. Land owners can invite other players into their territory and rent towns out to them, creating a player-run economy.
3. Factions
Players choose between the Kayi and Crusader factions, each with its own weekly events, leaderboard and reward pool. A special item lets a player switch factions, and players from both factions can share settlements.
4. What the MEE token is used for
Players stake MEE to unlock in-game benefits such as VIP status, land access and daily rewards. Staked MEE also gives voting power with influence over game rules, access to purchases of NFTs such as land, early use of new features, and access to airdrops.
5. Where to play
The game is built for both computers and phones, with versions for Windows, Mac, iOS and Android.
Medieval Empires' Milestones
The MEE governance token's code was published on GitHub in July 2022. In March 2025, the Dawn of Empires: Kayi & Crusaders update made the Crusaders a fully playable faction and added faction-based weekly events.
