About ECOMI
ECOMI: the OMI token and the VeVe digital collectibles ecosystem
ECOMI powers digital collecting on VeVe, a platform where people collect and trade officially licensed 3D digital collectibles, and OMI is the utility and rewards token of that ecosystem. ECOMI was founded in 2018 in Auckland, New Zealand, and launched OMI in 2020. The token runs on Ethereum and on Base, a layer 2 network that runs on top of Ethereum to make transactions cheaper.
Key Aspects of ECOMI
1. VeVe Digital Collectibles
On VeVe, collectors buy and trade officially licensed digital collectibles from global brands and characters. Each collectible is a non-fungible token (NFT), a unique digital item recorded on a blockchain.
2. What the OMI Token Is Used For
OMI powers transactions, access and ownership across the VeVe ecosystem. Through OMI Unlimited, holders can lock OMI to earn XP every day and win collectibles and VeVe Gems each season.
3. Burns
Purchases in the ecosystem, such as buying VeVe Gems with USDC, permanently remove OMI from supply.
4. Token Design
750 billion OMI were created at the start. In September 2024, ECOMI permanently removed the remaining non-circulating tokens held in its Vault and Reserve wallets, tokens that had been created to support the original token model.
5. Who It Is For
ECOMI and VeVe are made for fans and collectors of officially licensed digital collectibles.

ECOMI was founded in 2018 and launched OMI in 2020. OMI came to Base in May 2024, and in September 2024 ECOMI removed the non-circulating tokens from its Vault and Reserve wallets.
