About Dimitra
Dimitra: agricultural technology with a blockchain token
Dimitra is an agritech (agricultural technology) company that combines satellite analysis, AI, blockchain and mobile technology to help farmers, cooperatives, exporters and governments trace crops and meet sustainability rules. Its DMTR token is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, created in July 2021, and it is used to run services on the Dimitra Protocol.
Key Aspects of Dimitra
1. How it works
Dimitra turns farm data into checkable records. Field data, satellite analysis and AI models feed into services for traceability (tracking a product from farm to buyer) and compliance, and each record can be shown to buyers and auditors.
2. Deforestation and compliance checks
A core use is the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), an EU law under which goods such as coffee, soya and cocoa can be sold in the EU only if they come from land that was not deforested. Dimitra's compliance tools map farms and check them against satellite imagery to produce that evidence.
3. What the DMTR token is used for
DMTR is the transaction fuel of the Dimitra Protocol: each report, analysis or verification run through the protocol consumes DMTR. The token is also used for access to AI services, staking pools and software licences in the ecosystem.
4. Token design
DMTR was created with a total supply of about 1 billion tokens. When clients pay for services in ordinary money, Dimitra's treasury buys back DMTR, linking real service use to the token.
5. Who it is for
Dimitra's tools are built for farmers and cooperatives, the companies, exporters and traders who buy crops such as coffee and cocoa, and the government agencies that oversee them.
Dimitra's Milestones
The DMTR token contract was created on Ethereum in July 2021. In March 2024 Dimitra announced that it had certified a coffee shipment from a Peruvian cooperative as compliant with the EUDR. In October 2025 it published its model for token use and buybacks, and in April 2026 it launched the Tambo Amazon Carbon Project, a community forest carbon project in Peru.
