About Constellation
Constellation: a network for verified data, powered by the DAG token
Constellation is a blockchain network built to validate and secure data, and it describes its focus as verified data automation for the AI era. Its main network, the Hypergraph, uses a directed acyclic graph (DAG): a structure where many records link to earlier ones at the same time, instead of a single chain of blocks. Its native token is also called DAG, and the network is developed by Constellation Network.
Key Aspects of Constellation
1. The Hypergraph
The Hypergraph is Constellation's global layer 0: a base layer that gives final approval to the records of the networks built on it. It is run by validator nodes, whose operators hold DAG to take part.
2. Metagraphs
Metagraphs are separate networks built on top of the Hypergraph. Each one checks its own data and reaches its own agreement first, then sends the result to the Hypergraph for final approval and storage. This lets teams build networks tailored to one application while sharing the Hypergraph's security.
3. What DAG is used for
Metagraphs pay snapshot fees in DAG to have their data validated and stored. Holders can also delegate their DAG to a validator, backing it without running a node themselves, and earn rewards for doing so.
4. Token design
Under its original design, DAG rewards halved in each period, with a final total just under 3.69 billion DAG. In the first quarter of 2025, the project's Metanomics model replaced this with a flexible supply, in which the snapshot fees paid by metagraphs are permanently removed from circulation.
5. Wallets and tools
Constellation's own tools include the Stargazer Wallet for DAG and metagraph tokens, the DAG Explorer for viewing network activity, and Arca, a dollar wallet app.
Constellation's Milestones
In the first quarter of 2025, DAG moved to the flexible-supply Metanomics model. In May 2026, Constellation Network was acquired by AIAI Holdings Inc. In June 2026, it launched Arca, a dollar wallet for iPhone and Android. In October 2026, its mainnet moved to a set of 30 active validators chosen each quarter by delegation.
