About CARV
CARV: identity, data and AI agent infrastructure
CARV is a blockchain project that builds identity, data and execution infrastructure for what it calls AI Beings: AI agents that can hold an identity, use verified data and act on-chain. It started as an identity and data layer for gaming and AI. Its CARV token launched in October 2024 and exists on several networks, including Ethereum, Arbitrum and Base.
Key Aspects of CARV
1. How It Works
CARV combines several parts. CARV ID, based on the ERC-7231 standard, is a persistent identity for people and AI agents that records memory, reputation and history. The D.A.T.A. framework (Data Authentication, Trust and Attestation) checks on-chain and off-chain data before AI agents use it. The CARV SVM Chain brings the Solana Virtual Machine, the engine that runs Solana programs, to a network that settles on Ethereum.
2. Verifier Nodes
CARV Verifier Nodes check outside data and the actions of AI agents, to keep out fake accounts and attempts to feed false data to AI models. They also verify zero-knowledge proofs and attestations from trusted execution environments, secure areas of a processor.
3. What CARV Is Used For
The CARV token is the governance token of the CARV ecosystem and the gas token of the SVM Chain, paying for network computing. AI agent tokens are paired with CARV in their liquidity pools, and CARV pays for premium features in the ecosystem. Staking CARV converts it one-to-one into veCARV.
4. veCARV and Governance
veCARV, short for voting-escrow CARV, is a non-transferable form of the token used for governance voting and delegation and to reward node operators who secure the network. Holders can redeem veCARV back to CARV after an unlock period, and longer periods return a larger share, up to 100%.
5. Token Design
CARV has a total supply of 1 billion tokens, released over four years from the token launch. Half was allocated to nodes and the community; the rest went to the founding team and advisors, the ecosystem and treasury, early investors, private fundraising and liquidity.
