Bluefin: a decentralised trading platform on Sui
Bluefin is a decentralised exchange, a trading platform where users keep control of their own funds, built on Sui, a fast layer 1 blockchain. It offers perpetual futures (contracts that track an asset's price with no expiry date), spot trading and tools for liquidity providers. BLUE is the governance token of the Bluefin protocol.
Key Aspects of Bluefin
1. How it works
Bluefin Pro, its perpetuals platform, matches orders in under a millisecond and supports cross margining, where one balance backs several positions. Trading runs on-chain on Sui, so users keep control of their funds while they trade.
2. Spot trading and liquidity
Bluefin Spot runs concentrated liquidity pools, where providers choose the price range they want to supply. BluefinX adds request-for-quote trading, in which professional market makers quote prices for a trade.
3. What the BLUE token is used for
BLUE is the governance token: holders can take part in decisions about the protocol.
4. Token design
The project lists a total supply of 1,000,000,000 BLUE, issued on the Sui network.
5. Who it is for
Bluefin is aimed at active traders who want exchange-style tools while holding their own funds, and at liquidity providers on Sui.

Between April and June 2025, Bluefin launched BluefinX, its request-for-quote product, upgraded its spot market to Bluefin Spot 2.0, and released Bluefin7K, a trade aggregator built on technology it acquired from 7K.
